Unfathomable

Fathoms below

No mortal can fathom

How you love my soul.

No metric we have

Or descriptor we know

Can measure how deep

Your love for me goes.

-Scarlett Elise

I can't understand how the Lord is so powerful and holy, yet so kind. He could have struck down all of humanity for our endless, traitorous sin and remained fully just in delivering such a punishment. But instead, He chose to send His only son to live among us, heal us, and then die for us so that we might be able to live forever with Him. Thank you, thank you Lord!!

And if all good things and all loves that we know on earth are only a glimpse of His love and character, I can't begin to fathom how deeply and gently and extravagantly He loves us! We ought to be overflowing with gratitude for the constant presence and provision of our loving Father, and how He chooses to pursue the sheep that has gone astray. He doesn't yell or rush or get frustrated. He patiently shows His love and walks beside us in our stumbling, crippled state until we make it home to His kingdom.

My hope is that you are relieved and rejuvenated when you recall the great love of our Savior King, and I hope all other worries fade in comparison to the joy of remembering your salvation. He made a way for us to live forever with Him in Heaven instead of receiving the death penalty we deserve, so why wouldn't He be able to make a way in the circumstance you find yourself in today? Our Father gives good gifts... "Which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?" (Matthew 7:9-11). He loves you deeply!

Love,

Scarlett
